  I’ve been using the app for about a year now. Before when I had a Samsung (and soon hope to go back) and now obviously on iPhone. The app works very well for everything it offers. It’s improved it’s ability to connect to your Xbox and be used as a controller for Xbox functions and keyboard amongst many other services in app that were improved and work almost perfectly. I see now that this update has improved the quality of voice/party chat which was kinda mediocre at times and can’t wait to try. Will update after. I hope to see the ability to join the party chat through your phone and not be disconnected from party chat from the Xbox. It would be a wonderful fix if I were able to listen to the party through my headphones connected to my controlled but use the phone as a mic, as my current headset has two aux cables preventing me from seamlessly using both audio and mic functions..

  On an iPhone 6s Plus, the app works fine for all of about 5-8 minutes then crashes. Constantly crashes in xbox live parties. Also always “disconnects” in parties leaving you in the party, but you can’t talk to anyone. It gives you the prompt “disconnected” and your icon is dark while everyone is lit up.   I am a Mac person! I have built in “dislike” for MS. However, I love the XBox console. I love Halo, therefore I must use this and a few other MS products. What I find amazing however this is that the software engineers at MS can’t code. I click on the Xbox app on my phone. It spins for 10-15 minutes or crashes. I get notifications that I am being messaged via my Xbox profile. I can’t respond. I look for “new” conversations, I click on green enumerated conversations, they are actually old conversations I’ve closed out. I attempt to check status on fellow players, their profiles never come up. What I’m complaining about does not happen every time. Take my complaint with a grain of salt. On the other hand it happens often enough that it makes the app useless at times.

  I loved xbox but I switched to PS4 for a change and my god is it great! but I later found out that most of my friends are on Xbox One so until recently they started implementing cross platform play, i’ve “tried” using the Xbox app to talk to them in the party but it’s literally the worst thing possible. there are so many issues with the app that I don’t even know where to begin. first off, the apps party, if you want to call it that, is pretty bad itself. Being that when you try to listen to your friends talk the audio bugs out like some kind of clicking sound that cuts my friends off for me to stop listening and plus a black screen that flickers on and off in a rapid rate. Second, the app crashes WAY too much. It’s so bad that the app can’t even handle the startup at times. I know that Microsoft will most likely ignore all of these reviews for the app because, well, it’s Microsoft they don’t really listen to their consumers much but it’s just annoying that I can’t talk to my friends sometimes. We would use Discord but we have network issues with it so yeah.
